Located at the southern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park about an hour west of Asheville, the Bryson City area is just three hours from Atlanta and Charlotte, and two hours from Greenville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
Downtown Bryson City, with less than 1500 residents, is situated on banks of the Tuckasegee River, just off US 19/74 - the Smoky Mountain Expressway. The mostly rural Swain County has a population of about 15,000.
With just five traffic lights, Bryson City is the antithesis of our more carnival-like neighbors on the Tennessee side of the National Park. We're a laid-back and easy-going small town. Yet we're in the center of a vast outdoor playground.
You'll have no problem filling your vacation with fun activities, like...
Take a scenic train ride
Visit a smoky mountain train museum
Go kayaking or take a whitewater rafting ride
Go fishing - fly fishing for trout Deep Creek or the Tuckasegee River, or fish for bass in Fontana Lake

"This is our 3rd year visiting Bryson City and staying with you in your cabins. We can say that we have stayed in all 3 of your cabins and have enjoyed each of them. There is no place else we would want to stay. Thanks for being a special part of our families vacation. We hope to be back many more times and bring others with us. God bless you both."
